After the first hiatus from our summer vegetable CSA in a decade and a half, we are pleased to again offer a fall CSA this year! It will run for seven weeks from Friday, October 14 to Tuesday, Nov 22, and will include all those fall and cold-tolerant crops that you’ve been missing – potatoes, garlic, beets, winter squash, lettuce, kale, spinach, broccoli, carrots, and more. Also available will be our delicious pastured eggs and pastured poultry as well as bread and granola from our bakery. (For those of you who haven’t yet heard, we successfully moved, and are now enjoying baking in a much larger space on Main Street in Norwood! Retail hours coming soon!)
Our CSA shares start at $32 per week ($225 total). We will deliver to Telluride on Friday afternoons for a small fee ($3 per week), or you can pick up at the farm on Fridays at no additional charge. We are only offering 15 shares, so sign up soon to reserve your spot! You can sign up here. If you are a returning CSA member, no need to re-enter all your information – just follow the “returning member” link in the green box at the top of the sign-up page.
Once distribution begins, we will be sending out a CSA newsletter every Wednesday. It will tell you what veggies to expect in your box on Friday and provide recipes and ideas for preparing them. This is our way of communicating with you, our valued member, so make sure to read it!
The first four weeks of our fall CSA will be run by yours truly, Jonathan Krohn. Originally from Denver, I became an apprentice at the farm this spring. My previous experience in agriculture has been working at a research station in eastern Kansas and starting a perennial garden at a children’s home in the Philippines. If I haven’t run into you yet at the Telluride Farmers’ Market, I hope to meet you soon!
